Had a little time in Sandspit, located on Moresby Island, and decided to check out one of the local trails. Onward Point Trail is about half-way between the ferry landing and the airport. It's a short trail that circles around, eventually bringing you back to your start point, though I did see paths that seemed to lead elsewhere. At one point the main path brings you right up to the sea, where you can stand on large flat rocks and look out across the water. That particular area I believe is the whale watching spot. Unfortunately, I did not manage to see any whales today. None the less, it's a nice short trail worth checking out if you are in Sandspit. Have a click through the photos to get an idea of what the trail looks like.
